The Museum of Contemporary Art of Montenegro (MCAM) is pleased to announce a literary evening with Will Firth, a renowned translator of contemporary literature, to be held on Tuesday, October 22, at 7 PM at the House of The King’s Guard.

The literary evening will focus on a discussion about the creative process of translation and the challenges translators face when conveying complex literary works from one language to another. The event will also feature some of his translations of works by Montenegrin authors, including those of Tijana Rakočević, Andrej Nikolaidis, Ilija Đurović, Ognjen Spahić, and many others.

Will Firth, born in 1965 in Newcastle, Australia, studied German and Slavic languages in Canberra, Zagreb, and Moscow. He currently lives in Berlin, where he translates contemporary literature and humanities from Russian, Macedonian, and all variants of the shared language. Firth is an Esperantist and is known for his translations of significant works such as “A Journey to Russia” by Miroslav Krleža, “The Novel of London” by Miloš Crnjanski, and “Divine Children” by Tatjana Gromača.
