PARTICIPATORY WORKSHOP WITH ARTIST IRENA LAGATOR PEJOVIĆ HELD IN THE MSUCG PARK
Yesterday, the MCAM park hosted a participatory workshop focusing on public space art.
Participants engaged in the process-oriented, participatory artwork “Symbiotic Collection” by artist Irena Lagator Pejović, which is displayed along the park’s path.
The artist presented the method and technique of the work, discussed its conceptual origins and objectives, and elaborated on the research conducted in collaboration with biologists and MCAM curators.
Curator Natalija Vujošević spoke about the collection of non-aligned art through time and how it currently interacts with artists, researchers, and the public through the project Laboratory of Non-Aligned Art Collection.
The workshop was led by museum educator Danijela Stjepčević Laušević.
The work “Symbiotic Collection” is part of the MCAM Experimental Department’s collection, a gift from the artist resulting from collaboration with the Laboratory of Non-Aligned Art Collection project in 2022.
It is currently featured in the exhibition “Montenegro Today,” within the segment “Landscape That Observes Us / Art about Nature, in Nature, Against, and in the Name of Nature.”
The exhibition “Montenegro Today” is open to the public until August 26, 2024.
