As part of the “Montenegrin Culture Week in the Republic of Albania,” the exhibition “Homo Ex Machina” by Montenegrin artists opened yesterday at the Pyramid in Tirana.
The exhibition features seven artists — Maja Šofranac, Ana Aleksić, Nikola Radonjić, Nikola Marković, Siniša Radulović, Adin Rastoder, and Igor Husagsa — showcasing a total of 12 works. The exhibition is curated by Anja Marković and Maja Dedić.
These artists have distinguished themselves on the Montenegrin art scene with their innovative and experimental approaches, ideas, and execution, gaining recognition both within and beyond Montenegro.
The exhibition’s theme, “Homo Ex Machina,” is inspired by technological advances, especially in robotics and astronomy, posing questions about whether technology enhances our self-understanding or alienates us.
The curators highlight that this is a conceptual exhibition based on exploring the relationship between humans and technology through diverse and authentic artistic perspectives, examining the boundaries between the natural and artificial. The exhibition aims to prompt visitors to reflect on what it means to be human in an era where the line between humans and machines is increasingly blurred.
“This exhibit also encourages reflection on what it means to be human in an era where machines become not only tools but potential partners in shaping reality and the future,” said the curators.
We are especially pleased that the Ministry of Culture and Media has recognized the importance of this project, which fosters the exchange of ideas, networking, and professional comparisons and connections between contemporary artists from both countries.
