A public guided tour was held at the MCAM for the exhibition “Firstborn”/”Prvorođena” by the artist Šejla Kamerić.

Curator Milica Bezmarević led the tour, offering insights into the inspiration and context of the works.

Through film, photography, objects, drawings, and installations, Kamerić explores themes of identity, gender stereotypes, and societal norms. Special emphasis is placed on the perception of female heritage, with a strong sense of empathy as a key element in her artistic expression.

This exhibition is the result of a conceptual collaboration between the artist and curator Milica Bezmarević, stemming from their years-long creative dialogue. Their conversation about the design of the exhibition can also be found in Šejla’s monograph “Mother is a Bitch,” published by the renowned German publishing house Distanz, with the support of MCAM, as well as on the Museum’s website.

The exhibition is open to the public until November 10.
