
Organized by the Museum of Contemporary Art of Montenegro, the lecture titled “A Global Universe” was held in the lobby of the Technical Faculties at the University of Montenegro, delivered by one of the world’s most prominent architects – Odile Decq.
In a dynamic and inspiring presentation, Decq showcased selected projects from her rich professional portfolio, highlighting the ways in which art, architecture, and design intertwine in her work, while also maintaining their individuality. A special focus of the lecture was placed on the projects that will be featured in the upcoming exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Montenegro.
Before a packed audience of students, professors, architects, artists, and contemporary culture enthusiasts, the French architect spoke about her creative philosophy, innovative approaches to space, and her experiments with materials and form.
Odile Decq – a French architect, designer, and artist – is known for her innovative, multidisciplinary approach that has shaped numerous acclaimed projects around the world, from the Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome (MACRO) to the Archaeological Museum in Tangshan and the Antares Tower in Barcelona.
Her name is well-recognized in the fields of architecture and design, and she is the recipient of prestigious awards such as the Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale, the Jane Drew Prize, and the Architizer A+ Lifetime Achievement Award. Her work leaves a profound mark on contemporary architecture, while her academic mission through the Confluence Institute contributes to the education of new generations of architects.
The lecture was a special segment of the accompanying program of the exhibition “Beyond the Looking Glass”, which opens on Thursday, April 10, at 7 PM, at the Petrović Castle. The exhibition is curated by Blanka Marković.
