
Literary Evening of Fantasy with Marijana Terić at Petrović Castle on November 6th at 7 PM.
The Museum of Contemporary Art of Montenegro is organizing a Literary Evening of Fantasy with Marijana Terić, which will take place on Friday, November 6th, at 7 PM, at Petrović Castle.
During the event, the distinguished writer Marijana Terić, the first Doctor of Fantasy Literature in Montenegro, will present her latest work, Fantastika Montenegrina. This book showcases exceptional stories by Montenegrin authors from the second half of the 20th century, contributing significantly to the development of fantasy literature in the country.
In addition to Marijana Terić, the event will feature Prof. Dr. Budimir Aleksić, a Doctor of Fantasy Literature, who earned his Ph.D. with a dissertation on the children’s literature of renowned Montenegrin writer Čedo Vuković.
Marijana Terić holds a Ph.D. from the Interdisciplinary Doctoral Studies in the field of Social and Humanistic Sciences at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad. She is the first Montenegrin to earn a doctorate in the field of fantasy literature.
Terić regularly publishes her works in numerous professional and academic literary journals. She is a member of the editorial team of GLOS, the journal of the Polish community in Montenegro. She is also the author of three monographs:The Inner Side of Time (Faculty of Montenegrin Language and Literature, Cetinje, 2016), Literary Observations (A View on Literary Phenomena) (Croatian-Montenegrin Friendship Society “Croatica – Montenegrina,” Osijek, 2020), and Paths of Infinity – The Reception of Yugoslav Fantasy Prose (Belgrade: Alma, 2021).
She has participated in international conferences in Zadar, Sarajevo, Novi Sad, Kragujevac, Lviv, Gdańsk, Katowice, Wrocław, as well as other academic gatherings in Montenegro.
Terić also founded the first Montenegrin journal dedicated to fantasy in literature and art, titled Athanatik. The journal brings together the most prominent fantasy authors from the Balkans, as well as renowned European theorists in the field.
