Promotion of the Play Sula Radov

The Museum of Contemporary Art of Montenegro announces the promotion of the play Sula Radov and the Four Petrovićs, written by Prof. PhD Sonja Tomović Šundić.

This literary event will take place on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 6 PM at Petrović Castle.

The play Sula Radov and the Four Petrovićs explores the universal values that shape human life, setting the story during the reigns of four Petrović rulers—Petar I, Petar II, Prince Danilo, and King Nikola.

Within this historical framework, the character of Sula Radov emerges as a symbol of enduring values that persist despite social and political changes. Sula is not just a witness to history but also an active participant, embodying steadfastness in a constantly shifting world.

The play’s author, Prof. Dr. Sonja Tomović Šundić, is a full professor at the University of Montenegro, where she teaches Political Anthropology, Aesthetics, Philosophy, and Gender Studies. She is the author of numerous books and academic papers in the fields of anthropology, aesthetics, and philosophy, including: Studies and Essays in Anthropology, The Problem of Reception in Contemporary Aesthetic Theories, The Ethics of Human Rights, Identity and Value, Njegoš’s Philosophy of Man, and many others.

The event will feature discussions on the play Sula Radov and the Four Petrovićs and the legacy of Konstantin Sula Radov Radulović, the Montenegrin sage and senator known as the “Montenegrin Socrates.” Speakers will include Prince Nikola Petrović, Prof. Dr. Branislav Radulović—university professor and President of the Assembly of the Sula RadovFoundation—and Slobodan Marunović, leading actor of the Montenegrin National Theatre, who will read excerpts from the play.
