The Museum of Contemporary Art of Montenegro (MCAM) is delighted to announce the opening of Tijana Gordić’s exhibition titled “Night Sky,” which will take place on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 7 PM, at The House of The King’s Guard. The curator of the exhibition is Natalija Đuranović.
The “Night Sky” exhibition presents a series of paintings and drawings that blend meditative introspection with cosmic symbolism. Using diverse materials such as glitter, holographic foils, and acrylic paints, Tijana Gordić explores how geometry, sound, and light shape our perception of reality.
Her work unites tradition and contemporary artistic practice, inviting viewers on an introspective journey through universal symbols and unique worlds.
As curator Natalija Đuranović highlights, “Tijana Gordić’s artistic expression opens a window into a mystical cosmos shaped by universal principles and profound insights into the nature of life, time, and space. Her works function as visual metaphors for the cyclical and dynamic nature of existence, encouraging introspection in the viewer.”
A central aspect of the exhibition is the exploration of the relationship between sound and color, where color tones are transferred to the canvas as sequences depicting the flow of time or space in motion.
“Her paintings emit a timeless dimension, creating textured lines and gradually revealing a metaphysical ambiance. Through harmonious spatial labyrinths, they lead the viewer into a state of introspective contemplation,” Đuranović adds.
The “Night Sky” exhibition is an homage to both the inner and outer cosmos, unveiling the richness of creative imagination through vibrant color variations and symbolic forms.
